Basic Hoodia info - Hoodia is one of the 13 species that belongs to the family of Apocynaceae from the plant kingdom. Since they bear a striking resemblance to the cactus plants, they are also called as the ‘cacti form’. However, despite the similar appearance, they are in no way related to the cactus family. They usually grow up to 1m in height and have succulent stems. Hoodia is a flowering plant, characteristic of the Namib Desert in South Africa.
