Hero or Victim? -- A Must-read Book

Meredith B. Mitchell is a Jungian analyst, previously in private practice in Van Nuys, California. He and his wife, Roberta, have retired and live in Georgetown, Texas. Since 2005, he as taught Jungian oriented courses in Georgetown's Senior University and has lectured both in Georgetown and Austin.

He received his B.A. and M.A. in psychology from U.C.L.A. in 1948 and 1953, respectively. He graduated with a B.S. in electrical engineering from Caltech in 1960 and subsequently worked for seven years as a consulting engineering psychologist, during which time he attended Claremont Graduate University where he studied toward a Ph.D. in clinical psychology.

Dr. Mitchell received his doctorate in 1967 based on his dissertation entitled "Hypnotic Susceptibility and Response to Distraction." Subsequently, he trained at the C.G. Jung Institute of Los Angeles from which he graduated and received certification as a Jungian analyst in 1974. He served as treasurer of the C.G.Jung Institute of Los Angeles for over twelve years, as vice president for one year, and subsequently, from 1991 to 1993, held the office of president. He retains his membershiip in the Los Angeles Jung Institute to this day. He also remains a member of the American Psychological Association.
