- W elcome to HerpFamily.com! We originally began in 2005 as a simple set of forums to break free from the forums we were all being banned from for some of the most bogus reasons. It was never expected to become as popular as it has. We honestly thought given a week, our new forums would have failed just as so many have in the past. Fortunately, we were very wrong and our forums are beginning to grow stronger than ever. A few months after starting up our forums, we decided that forums weren't enough and we needed a full-blown website.
