About the Site
Hand Coding is run primarily by Alex Bischoff (that would be me). I’m a front-end web developer specializing in (X)HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I take pride in writing XHTML-compliant code, and I’m a standards nut in general. If you would like to hire me, my portfolio and resume are online as well.
Likes: tea (especially Earl Grey), wine (especially South African and Australian reds), audiophilia (is that the right conjugation of ‘audiophile’?), language and words, Open Source software (especially Firefox and OpenOffice), BattleBots, TiVo, autocrossing, and metal.
Dislikes: monopolies (and near-monopolies), corporate bullying, form over function, people who only think in the short-term, and overpriced beer (you would think that ‘only’ 100-200% profit would be sufficient). I had a hard time coming up with the ‘dislikes’ list, as there’s not much that I really dislike.
