The original family property Low Ground on Birker Beck above Stanley Force was bought on 11 July 1928 from the estate of Thomas Holford Coward by Alexander Dunlop Lindsay.
Over the last fifty years, Gillbank Cottage has been a treasured base for the diaspora of the Lindsay clan. In 2004 and 2005 the cottage went through full renovation and refurbishment.
