- The Gene Pool, Inc. is a leader in Molecular Lock technology and is developing novel reagents, research tools, diagnostics, engineered cells, and therapeutics based on molecules that bind specifically and cooperatively to nucleic acid targets. Molecular Lock technology is a nucleic acid target capture and signal amplification methodology. Molecular Locks can be used to bind to genes and areas of the genome that control gene expression and to assemble signal amplification polymers (called Boosters) that can be used to detect small numbers of targets. Using Molecular Locks and Boosters, The Gene Pool, Inc. has built a development engine for scientific and commercial applications that require the selective binding, characterization, activation and/or suppression of genomic targets. Molecular Locks may both complement and offer an alternative to PCR and other hybridization-based methods for target detection. Molecular Locks offer an alternative to small, interfering RNAs (siRNAs) for in vivo target suppression.
