Description
Gender Education & Advocacy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation which provides information about transsexual and transgender issues. This website is our primary tool for both education and advocacy.
GEA is the successor organization for the 501(c)(3) American Educational Gender Information Service, Inc., which operated between 1990 and 1998. Much of AEGIS’ information and many of its publications remain timely and can be found here.
We practice something we call distributed gender education. By making our materials available to activists, scholars, and educators, our information is more far-reaching than would otherwise be possible. We encourage the printing, duplication, and free distribution our our materials, so long as our identifying information remains attached.
