Description

The Fort Abraham Lincoln Foundation is a member-supported foundation dedicated to preserving and promoting the heritage of the historic properties of Fort Lincoln State Park and other historical sites of North Dakota. It is a non-profit, 501(c) (3) corporation qualified to receive tax-deductible contributions.

The Fort Abraham Lincoln Foundation succeeded in reconstructing the home of Gen. George and Elizabeth Custer in 1989, and has since rebuilt four other Cavalry post buildings and five Mandan Indian earthlodges. The most recent addition was a 7th Cavalry Stable opened in 2004, while the Foundation continued to operate the finest living history program on the Northern Plains.

The Foundation is currently raising funds to restore Tom Custer’s quarters which will hold a state-of-the-art historical research library focusing on the Mandan Indians and the 7
