Description
The Fort Langley Canoe Club is a non-profit group of people who enjoy paddling competitively and recreationally. We started out as a Sprint Racing Club with our children competing in flat water racing. We re-enact the historic arrival of people to Fort Langley during the “Brigade Days” every summer and use our four Voyageur canoes for numerous community events. Our Dragonboat teams race in regattas throughout the Lower Mainland and now have a new 6/16 Dragonboat for club practices.
Family membership entitles the immediate family members in a household to paddle recreationally from 1 April to 31 March of the following year during family social events and club practices. Also, after the sprint athletes and Drop-In people have their boats, family members may take a recreational kayak or canoe out and paddle while the sprint paddlers are having their practice. Children must be supervised by one of their parents. We ask that family members paddle away from where the sprint practices are taking place to avoid distraction and confusion.
Each member may use the club boats and paddles. If a member wishes to have a more specialized paddle, they must purchase it themselves.
