Fleet Tire Consulting is owned and operated by Peggy J. Fisher who with more than 25 years of experience in the trucking industry is recognized as North America’s leading independent truck tire and wheel expert.
Fisher was President of the Roadway Tire Company for 8 years, which manufactured 160 retreaded truck tires a day using a mold cure process. She was Manager of Tire, Trailer and Dolly Maintenance for Roadway Express, Inc. for eleven years and directed the maintenance of 190,000 tires and wheels, 28,000 trailers, and 3,500 dollies in a fleet that served over 600 terminals nationally.
Peggy Fisher is among the leaders of the Technology and Maintenance Council (TMC) of the American Trucking Association having served as General Chairman and Treasurer in 1988. She also chaired the Tire and Wheel Study Group for ten years during which time a record number of tire and wheel maintenance procedures and educational materials were developed for the trucking industry. She currently chairs several Tire and Wheel Task Forces. TMC’s Peggy J. Fisher Award for Excellence in Study Group Leadership, which she won in 1986 is named for her and she also holds TMC’s coveted Silver Spark Plug Award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to improving heavy-duty vehicle maintenance.
