The trust was formed by David Jack , a great, great nephew of Fitzsimmons on 17th March 2003 . The trusts objectives are as follows
1. To promote and encourage the collection and preservation, presentation and display of memorabilia relating to Robert (Bob) Fitzsimmons and his opponents.
3. To maintain and grow the means of displaying such collected memorabilia in Timaru , New Zealand including the internet by means of an on-line museum at www.fitzsimmons.co.nz.
