Electorama! :: An election reform extravaganza

Description

methods, and output formats. Supported election methods include Approval, Copeland, Definite Majority Choice, Instant Runoff, Minmax (margins and wv), Plurality, Range, Schulze (margins, wv and wv-mod [Debian]), and Smith set.

There are two websites that are putting Condorcet's method to uses other than elections. The usefulness of aggregating the information in ranked lists spans all kinds of endeavors. These websites use an implementation of this kind of aggregation that was created to be easily integrated into many different endeavors. The seminal concept behind these efforts is that making unpopular-but-better-ideas well known (such as the idea that aggregating the judgments expressed in ranked lists is the best way to find consensus, or that the planets revolve around the sun and not the Earth) are best spent creating a profitable endeavor that uses them. As people see that the profit comes at least in part from the unpopular-but-better-idea, that idea catches on and grows in public awareness of its own accord. No more struggling to make people see the light.

With gracious hosting and technical help from Rob Lanphier, Electowiki has been established: a new free-content wiki dedicated to discussing election-methods related material. This wiki is intended first and foremost for the election-methods@electorama.com and Electorama community.
