pulled from site's meta description

The Dynamics in Interaction, Communication and Activity research group - DICA-lab - is headed by Professor Charles Max who is professor for “Learning with educational media” at the University of Luxembourg (FLSHASE). Putting diversity, multi-mediality and multi-modality at its centre, DICA-lab is emphasising basic and applied research on • Situated practices of living, working and participating in socio-digital activity systems • Interactions within multi-device environments and through increasingly smart technologies • Impacts of social media and digital technologies on learning, development and community building. • New forms of cultural expression and technology mediated participation. The research group puts emphasis on human and social aspects of interactive technologies and services as for instance the dynamics of innovation and transformation within organisations and communities, the co-construction of knowledge across interfaces, the role of artefacts in mediating collaborative meaning-making, the construction of mutual understanding as trust and trustworthiness of systems in interaction. The lab is studying interactive processes “in the wild” through comprehensive process-tracking research methods, e.g. data-driven interaction analysis or tool-bound activity research. Domains of application concern Distributed, Ambient and Pervasive Technologies, Augmented and Mixed Reality, Online Communities, Participatory Sensing, Smart Cities, E-inclusion as well as Human Aspects of Information Security, Privacy and Trust.
