Crocker’s Lockers has created a state-of-the-art self-storage facility in San Francisco. Its clientele is unique for the storage industry in that many customers are small businesses serving the downtown San Francisco market in addition to residents of San Francisco. Being locally owned, Crocker’s Lockers is committed to the local community by being a good neighbor and to constantly improve the products and services it offers.
Crocker’s Lockers was founded in the 1970s. Crocker Development has developed over 40 self storage facilities throughout California, Nevada and Arizona. Crocker Development has also developed industrial parks, apartments and single family homes. Substantially all of the storage facilities were sold in 1994, but the company retained the 1400 Folsom Street store.
The building that currently holds Crocker’s Lockers was built in the 1920s and served as an automobile manufacturing facility for Kleiber Automobiles. Since that time the building was used for many different uses including an art gallery on the first floor. Crocker Development purchased and converted the warehouse building in 1984 to a self storage facility
