Description
The Center for Photography at Woodstock provides an artistic home for contemporary creative photography with programs in education, exhibition, publication, residencies, and services for artists.
Appointed the Center's executive director in fall 2003, Ariel Shanberg has been at the Center since 1999 when he joined as an Arts Administration intern. As the 4th executive director in the organization's history, Shanberg sets and oversees the Center's artistic mission and creative offerings, working with CPW's staff and Board to ensure its historic & continued excellence.
Shanberg serves as co-editor of CPW's PHOTOGRAPHY Quarterly and has curated many exhibitions at CPW, most recently PLAY. Additionally he has served as a panelist for Media Alliance's Media Action Grant, Light Works' Regional Photographers' Grant, and a reviewer at both regional & national SPE conferences, FotoFest, and Positive Focus as well as an invited critic at Syracuse University and Rutgers University. He received a BFA in painting from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University in 1997. CONTACT
