Description
The Sri Aurobindo Association (SAA) is a California Nonprofit Religious Corporation. Donations to SAA are tax-exempt under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. Our primary purpose is to distribute information about Sri Aurobindo, the Mother, and Auroville. We publish a journal, Collaboration, and channel contributions to various projects related to the Sri Aurobindo Ashram (Pondicherry), Auroville, and work in America related to this spiritual path. We also support gatherings such as the annual AUM (All-USA Meeting) and other conferences.
SAA works to facilitate collaboration among the community of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother's devotees. Rather than looking upon itself as any kind of authority, it hopes to function almost like the administrators of a shared community resource, letting the Divine's instruments (everyone else) make use of the resource.
The board of directors of the Sri Aurobindo Association has developed a very exciting consensus style of working together, that by its very harmony does not give room for powerplays or factions. The board members feel strongly that their work is an expression of Sri Aurobindo and Mother's sadhana and collective purpose.
