Description

About Us

The Climate Campaign is a youth-led coalition that brings together student groups, local organizations, and major environmental networks throughout the Northeast. Founded in 2003, the Climate Campaign is now active on over 125 campuses in 9 states (Maine through New Jersey and Pennsylvania). The Climate Campaign aims to reduce the Northeast’s contributions to global climate change by:

To this end, the Climate Campaign has developed a unique organizing model that includes a diversity of communities, from students of a range of academic and social backgrounds to climate professionals, from small colleges to large universities, and from rural to urban areas. Our work relies on a system of strong state networks led by student coordinators and on the outcomes of regional and state gatherings, including February regional conferences, an annual summer session, fall state summits, and coordinator retreats. The Climate Campaign is also a founding member of Energy Action, a national youth clean energy coalition based in part on the Climate Campaign model.

The Climate Campaign believes that the 460 four-year colleges and universities in the Northeast can be a driving force in reducing the region’s greenhouse gas emissions. Our colleges and universities are training grounds for future leaders, laboratories for cutting edge research, economics engines for the region, and places to develop solutions to our biggest challenges.
