Description
Chico Pro Soccer Inc. established the Chico ROOKS in 1993. Their goal is to provide the North Valley soccer community with the opportunity to play and enjoy soccer at the highest level. Over the last twelve years the Rooks have amassed an overall record of 187 wins, 91 losses, and four draws. Chico advanced to post-season play every year and also earned a berth in the prestigious U.S. Open Cup six times. In 2004 the Rooks won the USASA National Open Cup Championship in Orlando, Florida.
The Rooks are members of the newly formed National Premier Soccer League (NPSL). The NPSL is the reorganization of the MPSL where the Rooks played the last two years. The NPSL has expanded to the Midwest and plans on becoming a full-fledged national league in the 2006 seasons with an Eastern Division.
The ROOKS have been successful in combining the local talent with players recruited from out of the area. The stability and success of the team coupled with great community support has allowed the ROOKS to attract talented players not only from all over Northern California but also from around the world.
