In 1989 Las Vegas director, choreographer Minnie Madden and former Hollywood scribe Mark Tan sat at a typewriter and pounded out the first eight-page issue of a new entertainment publication. It was, almost jokingly, christened “Dirt Alert,” using the show business slang and backstage vernacular for the latest gossip, unconfirmed rumors and updates on new productions.
