Bred in Germany, Boxers owe their existence to early Mastiff-type dogs, Brabanter and Bullensbeisser. These dogs resembled the English Bulldog, but German species usually occurred in fawn and brindle, never white. It was not until the English Bulldog was mated with the Brabanter and the Bullensbeisser that white Boxers appeared.
