Description

Zhonggouquan (China Fist)

This stems from Wu-shu (martial Arts) and is one of the contact sports from within this art. It is a style of what can be closely linked to Chinese boxing or as it is known in the Western world, Kickboxing. The art has a very long history and can stem back thousands of years to the time of the first Shaolin Monks in China, to this day the Monks still practice what is known as Wu-shu, and this is the core element to our art. Although today's society associates the art of Karate to be Japanese it's original origins come from China and if Karate was to be translated into its original Chinese script it would read "China Fist".

Light-Continuous

This is a step up from the point fighting (Semi-contact). It is fought over rounds in the way full contact is, but a great deal of control must be excercised, for knocking your opponent out is an instant disqualification. The whole idea of this type of fighting is controlled technique, and it is in this way that the fight is scored, very similar to the way Boxing is.

Semi-Contact

This stems from Karate Kumite fighting, where points must be scored from techniques. When a target area is hit, the referee stops the fight and awards the fighter the point. Points vary for the part of the body which is hit. You have to be very sharp with your techniques and again a great deal of control must be used, for excessive contact will be penalized. Unlike continuous, the referee judges the outcome of the fight.
