The Boston Jewish Film Festival
Description
Founded by filmmaker Michal Goldman in 1989, The Boston Jewish Film Festival has grown from 10 screenings to more than 40 at our Boston and Brookline venues and additional screenings throughout the Greater Boston area. Our 2005 Festival will take place November 2 - 13, showcasing films from throughout the world, including North American premieres, U.S. premieres and many Massachusetts premieres. We bring visiting artists from around the world to introduce their films, answer audience questions, and participate in panel discussions.
The Boston Jewish Film Festival, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation that is exempt from tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service code.
The Festival showcases the best contemporary films from around the world on Jewish themes. Our Festival is notable for the quality of the films it offers. In 2003, both our Artistic Director and our Executive Director received Image Awards from Women in Film & Video, New England. In addition, a number of the films we have shown have been nominated for or received Academy Awards®:
