pulled from site's meta descriptionA volunteer group of your Arlington neighbors has come together to consider how best to introduce the village concept in Arlington County. Arlington’s compact size provides an opportunity to realize economies of scale by combining some village functions on a county-wide basis and by sharing central administrative and technical services such as a website, database, contact point, and insurance. Therefore, we will use a “hub & spoke” model in which the hub—a small, non-profit organization to be known as Arlington Neighborhood Villages (ANV) —performs the centralized functions and neighborhood-based villages—the spokes—deliver services directly to their respective members. The central hub will also operate as a village, accepting members whose neighborhoods have not yet organized their own village. In addition, the central hub can partner with county and private service providers and vendors to identify and recommend available products and programs, perhaps offering them more effectively and at a lower cost.
