Africana Books: Our handpicked antiquarian stock comprises books on Africa, ie Africana books, with emphasis on South Africa, published between the 17th & 21st centuries on many African subjects, mainly in English and Afrikaans, with smaller numbers of Dutch, German and French titles. All of the stock is listed here, speciality E-mail lists are issued on request, and we do publish a paper catalogue of latest acquisitions every four months for local South African customers, which overseas clients may receive per E-mail, if desired. I have been reading and collecting books about Africa for almost sixty years. Right now my field of interest has narrowed down to NAMAQUALAND and I have one of the largest collections under one roof dealing with the arid Northwest Cape from the early 1700’s onward. I have been an avid reader on all aspects of the region’s history, humanities and natural history, and I have written two books, Lagoon which is out of print, and Life and Travels in the Northwest, 1850-1899 which consists of interesting experiences by a number of travelers, prospectors and locals. The latter is freely available from us, as well as a good selection of other books on the region by various authors. Naturally our stock covers subjects which extend far beyond the borders of Southern Africa. Our range is from Antarctica to Tangier, and includes volumes touching on the islands in the Indian and Atlantic oceans.
