Growth Based in London, Burnet and Temple imported hairnets and haberdashery lines from around the world, increasing in size and moving to larger premises. In 1925 two major changes occurred: Mr Temple retired from the business; Britain came off the gold standard and due to exchange rate changes, Sandy Burnet decided it was more economic to manufacture hairnets in England. At this time the company gained its own legal status as A Burnet & Company Limited.
