1ronic is a Sydney, Australia based rock band. Combining elements of flamenco, metal, mariachi, blues, rock, country and gypsy, the group creates intense, rhythmic and epic instrumental tunes. Their debut album "The Power Of Juan" was released in Decemeber 2010, and was promoted by a tour to Indonesia, where the band was robbed by their tour manager, climbed a volcano, were stranded in a rainforest (in the rain) and performed to gobsmacked audiences. 1ronic drummer Julz Lardis is widely regarded as Australia's best drummer. Despite never going out of time when hitting the skins, he has never been on time in his life for any offician event, including gigs. 1ronic guitarist Jason John Contos pioneered a guitar style known as "the dram" which consists of playing rhythmic, percussive strikes on the body of the instrument whilst simultaneously playing chords and melodies. Contos' metal sensibility translated to the Spanish guitar creates a thunderous sound, which is the bedrock of 1ronic. The band avoid concert performances, claiming there are too many rules (time constraints, door deals, appropriate behaviour etc) and prefer to spread their music by busking around the world. So far, that approach has worked a treat, with international airplay, a strong web presence, and a dedicated tribe of followers. The irony is, they're serious. www.1ronic.com
